1/18th Asphalt Midget & Trailer
« on: July 22, 2017, 01:20:47 PM »
This Midget was built using the OLD Monogram kit(red car on the box art) that was released back in 1952. A lot of folks thought that this was 1/20 scale but it's not. It scales out to 1/18th. A huge amount of fab work was done to this car.

A chassis from behind the drivers seat to the nose was fabbed from evergreen rod. The seat was also made from evergreen.

The kit engine was a marine offy engine and not what I wanted in the car. So...I fabbed the twin cam offy. The in-out box is fabbed from evergreen stock..The radiator is from parts box. The distributor top is fabbed(evergreen stock) and wired. It's got side draft webber carbs.. It's plumbed and wired...

Roll bar is evergreen rod.

Wheels and tires are my own along with all the decal work...

The trailer is fabbed from plans I drew up. All of it is evergreen plastic. Here are a few pics of the finished build...Thanks for looking in...and..ALL dialog is very welcome...
