Post by: john2 on July 23, 2022, 05:21:37 AM
:)  Rick Salvino replied directly to me yesterday.  " The molds are being cut.  They are going into production 4th quarter. "

:) The 4th quarter means Oct - Dec.  We will have to wait a while longer.

Later addendum  -    Late August probably means that 11 Dodge.

:(  Thanks.  I am still waiting. I have preordered by credit card, and have paid the bill.  I hope I get one.  I am not a member of Salvinos.

:)  Thanks.  I appreciate that.  I have a dually truck built, and the 3 axle, long closed trailer half built for it.  If I get it, may have to spring for the chrome stuff too.   :)

:)  Well, I had forgotten about sending the Ford.  Maybe you will get to it one day.  But, I am like you --- The mind says go, go.  But the body says no, no.

Best wishes, John

Addition, Sunday night 733 pm Central.  I miss that Tant/Mitchell coupe.    :)

:) Ok, so  have my kit in hand.

It is over my head as to modern engineering, and technology.  The parts are not named on the instructions.

So I am  building it box stock, following the numbered steps, and I have begun.

It will be a fantasy build, but will have to do with Ryan Newman, Bono Manion, and Mike Curb.

I have completely forgotten how to post pictures, but in the event I get it completed, I am sure Anne will help me with that.

Don't hold your collective breaths.  She and I are deep into pastel and watercolor painting these days.

Best wishes to everyone for 2023.

I thought these new kits were designed from computer images or some-such thing so it's all perfect. Or was that just the NASCAR models?

At any rate, it's sad to hear these problems exist especially since I intend to build mine soon.

....Sounds like it would be a good kit to cannibalize for useful parts....like those cheap NASCAR kits

 >:(  Big Orange, I hate to hear this news, but I will continue on.  I have done the 1st  2 steps --  the engine  -- 0f the 32.

:)  Well, there are obvious mistakes in it.

The parts trees are " lettered " and the parts aren't always found on the trees that match the instructions.  Also, in some cases, 2 different parts carry the same number on the instruction sheet.

I have been to numerous tracks, but I have never seen these cars race in person, so it's not easy for me to follow along.  Plus, these cars are state of the art as to engineering.

And, I bought mine directly from Wes, and I paid a good bit more for it than other prices I have seen.

So, Big Orange has some strong points to consider.

Shame on us! A couple builders have issues and we throw a very, very long awaited kit under the bus!

......SHAMELESS  8)   Hopefully this is not turning into another one of those P.C forums....

Full disclosure: I don't have a modified kit and after what I have seen, read and heard, I wont be getting one anytime soon.
It's more than just a couple builders  that have had or are having issues with their offerings.... the modified kit notwithstanding....this goes beyond what is posted here or what ever you (or anyone else, for that matter) are/is fallowing on face book.

A model builder should not get lambasted for voicing their opinion, pro or con on a particular kit, especially if they have first hand knowledge of that kit.

:)  No need to leave, Duane.  Let's ALL learn from it, and move on.

Please, everyone.  Let's let it go.

I am done with this one.
