'64 Fairlane LM

A recent beautiful replica got me inspired to do something with a Fairlane I got in a collection. Mine is not going to be so pretty! This is a bang around 1/4 mile dirt LM. sort of reminiscent of early 70's LM in southeast Wisconsin....

Those Wisconsin dirt tracks must have been super smooth because that thing is really hugging the ground! It looks great!

They weren't, but I like'em low so I fudged a little. Forgive me, lol. Hales Corners had rocks in it that would shred the rockers on this one!

Actually, that's the color of the body from the factory. And now that you mention it, I think I just decided on a colo,r or part of it it anyway!! Thanks for the hint!!!

uuuhhh...is the primer color the color the car is now? If I understand you right...the color that's orangeish is the plastic kit color?? If so...it sure looks good on screen... Soo..what color did you decide on?

It is primer now. Orange was the initial color of the plastic. I think I'll go with something close to that. Got a couple of ideas about the paint scheme so we'll see what happens. I sort of go with what comes into my mind. I couldn't leave the orange you see because of the sanding and cutting I did. It was a lot of sanding to get rid of the side chrome! I'll keep things posted as I go.....

Those old Fairlanes from 62, 63, and 64 made good looking race cars back in the day.

"Mr. Saturday Night" right there Rett! Nice job on a car that many of us could have seen at our local tracks.
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.
