Ron Schmidt 61 Ford Sedan Sportsman UPDATE 10-6-19
« on: September 24, 2019, 07:12:59 PM »
Building this for my brother Ron, as raced in the late 60s early 70s. The body is a Resin piece that he gave me, could be a Jimmy Flinstone one off. Not sure. The rest of the parts are all available from The 64 Galaxie Modified stocker kit.

Very nice. Who was the 27 car? Looks a lot like Gordy Gahagan. Don't know why I didn't know Ron. Early 70's were my best years. Raced 4 nights a week.

Yes that is Gordy. They each owned and built they're own cars, painted and lettered them to match, with Ron's Dean Tire Dealership as a sponsor. Ron says he looked back at his old Racing News' and found that you did race together. I will get more details on that and let you know. It is great to be back in touch with him again!

I hope my memory isn't going away! I ran a lot with Gordy but don't remember Ron.

Looks like a good start on a different racer.  Not too many full-size cars have been built as models.  More updates please.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

I hope to chg that! I've got some '60 Starliners to use for more of my big Fords. Just can't seem to find time right now to get to it!
