dented/muddy and raced tri5 chevy
« on: October 22, 2017, 03:40:28 PM »
built on a nascar chassis , built this model in 2003 for a customer . he owned the real car and races at tracks in Ohio in their hobby stock class . had to build from a photo he sent me , scrath built 180 headers and had to rebuild part of the cage to fit the body BMF on the chrome bars that he left on the car , I though those guys always took the bright work off the cars but he said he left it on
so I did it on the model , the guy asked for me to weather and add a muddy look to the finished model , jayson liked the finished model and I'v built him a couple more race cars but not all of them looked like this one

enjoy the great sunday everyone !

Nicely done and a real sharp car to work from. I liked that they left the chrome spears on and as long as they lasted they kind of help make the car car look cool!
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

I love weathered race cars, but in weathering “less if more” and in my opinion this model has a tad too much grime on it. The damage, and location of the applied grime, are great. It just a couple of clicks over the top for me.

yup David  I'v raced to both dry slick or so muddy you added 100lbs of mud just driving into turn 1   lol    some think this model has a little to much weathering on it .... guess they never been to putnumville  In. for a saturday night weekly show  , all the cars looked like this after the heat races  o well  it is what it is and its all good to me !
