Title: Kodiak Pontiac
Post by: Lefturns75 on April 23, 2018, 12:12:37 PM
I never was much of a Rusty Wallace fan but when he won the cup in 89, I built the car.  I had some good reference from ESPN on VCR--(Remember those?) and used that to build the Monogram Pontiac.  Decals were Cady and the paint is Testors White with Testors Glosscote.  It has held up pretty well but it is starting to yellow with age.  I plumbed the dry sump oil system but it is pretty well hidden in the completed model.  I added photo etch belts and wired up the radio connections and button on the steering wheel.  Its old, like me but it is still together.

I like this old car a lot and it brings back good memories of when I actually cared about this racing series. The short track racing from that era especially was always good! A lot of bumpin' and nudgin' and always tight to the end! Nice build Lefty!!

Another excellent build, George. Really like the gold air cleaner.
