Early 50's bodied Late Model Sportsman cars
« on: September 06, 2022, 11:55:05 AM »
Just looking for info/photos of any actual cars that might fit into this description. I got a 51 Chevy Belair and am looking for inspiration to build something with that body, that might look like some that actually were built in 1:1 scale.

My searching has turned up a website for Catamount Speedway in upper Vermont with pictures of several of these.  In the late 1950's/early 60's they were experimenting with these kinds of cars. They evolved a lot over time but this was the beginning. They must have done this in other parts of the country. Do any of you guys have any knowledge of photos of such cars?  I am not talking about running those old Chevy's in a 6 cylinder class but as LM cars with bigger engines.   What have you got?

This is a bit of what I turned up in N New England.
