Rett,

Down there is a bad place to be in a hurricane. A masonry building is the best kind to be in.  My in laws had a mobile home in a retirement park in Naples. I have been watching this to see how close to Naples it is coming. North of it I think.  Take care and stay safe.

If you do go M.I.A , get back in touch as soon as you can safely do so....in the meantime take care and most certainly be safe down there.

Right now (11PM) it looks like the direct hit is going to be well south of me! We will still get a lot of wind and  rain plus some storm surge water. I'm not in a flood area, so that's one less thing to worry about. I'll keep you all posted.

Rett,

Hang on brother. Looks like today is the worst. I have been looking at the tracking on the National Hurricane website and looks like it will be somewhat south of Tampa and North of Naples.  A lot of us will be saying prayers for you and your family.  Best of luck to all of you.

Rett,

Lots of us are wondering how you made out. Won't be surprised if your power is off. Let us know when you can.

Good news friends! We dodged a bullet! We got a few high winds yesterday evening. Nothing during the night that even woke me up! My damage...one palm frond laying in my front yard! LOL. Feel bad for the people south of us! Thank you all for thinking of us! Looks like I'm just going to keep on "living in paradise"!
Tks again,  Rett

:) Great news, Rett.  From what I see, it was really a bad one.  SC is next, I guess.

...You must be living life right..... :)
Was not directly impacted by the hurricane...
No issues w/ the storm surge and subsequent flooding....
              No tornado related problems
Still have electric power and running water I presume

I was fallowing along the progress of the hurricane thru NOAA's Storm Prediction Center statements and bulletins....you didn't dodge a bullet, more like you dodged a ballistic missile

Rett,

From the pictures I am seeing of the terrible damage, you and your family were truly lucky to have been spared. Florida is a real nice place to visit, but I would not want to be there when one of those things comes along.
