Not sure the chassis maker on them both, but the 1st one is an asphalt chassis.
That wasn't the easiest decision that I have ever made......
Judging by the age , the closet asphalt track(s) at the time that it would have been used would have been in the Kansas City Metro area , this chassis is in Belleville, Ks. the famous Belleville high banks are just to the North of where these pictures where taken. There are/would have been anywhere from 6 to 10 dirt tracks anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours from this location where as the metro would have been around 4 and the asphalt track only lasted from 1989 thru about 1993-1994. Only thing that makes any sense as far as it ending up rusting in peace here is that it was sold at an auction somewhere to someone thinking that it could be built into something to compete locally. I really doubt that any one local/semi local involved in the dirt scene (Belleville Motor Sports, Ron Sardensen, Kevin Larkins, Jet Chassis, Speedway Motors, etc. would have knowingly sold an asphalt chassis to someone wanting to build a dirt car.
The chassis has absolutely no signs of ever being assembled.....no dings, dents, scuff marks... nothing. The Grey paint appears to be original to the car...primer? Also not present are any mfg. plates, names , serial #s , etc. in the usual places.....possibly a copy...it does resemble a couple of better known chassis of the time, but with everyone copying everyone else's stuff , the lines get blurred.
There are a couple of locals that might know more about this chassis or at least who presently owns it ...I'll do some asking the next time I'm up that way.
