HEADS UP FOR THE ADMINS HERE.....
Am asking as a post on Randy's site of a member using POST IMAGE had a picture (maybe more) that had a Porn site attached to that photo(s)...
I have been using Post Image as it was rather easy to use.....Now I'm wondering if I one of my pics could be so infected.
.....Yes, the chances of there being
no issues with any of your pictures is quite slim to be honest with you.....in layman's terms, your pictures more than likely, are serving as potential portals to which ever porn sites that POST IMAGE is
ALLOWING to use their (POST IMAGE's) website in return for a certain % of the revenue generated by the porn site via clicking on a link.....in other words ,the porn sites are paying the bills at POST IMAGE in the name of "advertising", while POST IMAGE supply's the unknowing, yet honest members.
Since I started using Post Image I have had problems with the computer. Even had a warning pop up on one photo that said virus found, so now I am wondering the same thing. Plus my virus scan is going of the charts lately. ..........................
You just made my point, your virus scan can be overloaded to point of
complete and total failure which at that point your computer becomes a brick.......even with the top of the line virus scans in multiple redundancies. I can understand the lure of something free, but in the long term is it really worth destroying your computer?
Something else to consider is this......if your or anybody's computer gets infected to the point of major issues its like the Corona Virus that's making the news everywhere. How the virus is transmitted is quite similar to the Corona Virus in that one person gets it and many more can be exposed to it. As an example using this web site...member "X" either post or shares a link of a picture that the 3rd party host site is one of these free photo hosting sites that depends on its traffic to click on one of its advertisers link where the virus has its origins....could be any type of advertisement, it doesn't necessary have to be porn or any other questionable type of advertisement. Unbeknownst to member "X" his computer has been exposed to the virus ever since posting the picture (or it could have been the link as well). Member "X" introduces the virus to this website in the form of either the picture or the link. Anyone clicking on the link or picture has now exposed their computer to the virus. In the worse case scenario , the virus
could run amuck within the website and all the members computers have been exposed to the virus.
