32 ford ducktail 6cyl modified
« on: October 03, 2017, 05:59:29 PM »
same body as the 32 super modified but the body has a 29 ford grille shell over the rad, the 6cyl modifieds raced on the 1/4 track that was inside the 1/2 track at OKC state fairgrounds speedway , same rules as the super modifieds only the supers raced with v8 with a top wing and the modifieds ran 6 cyls non wing, there was a few times the 6cyls modifieds  raced with the v8 super modifieds and did pretty good on dry slick tracks

It looks like a "real-racer"!  Love those pipes, very authentic!

Oh yea...that looks sweet! My Father-in law would love this car. He's a 6 cyl type guy. He put a 300 six in a 56 ford sedan and ran in the sportsman class against the v8s. His brother in-law did all the driving and didn't do to bad. Won a few heat races but no mains. I want to build a replica of that car one day.

yo should build that 56 ford with a 6cyl , the a great looking ford 6 cyl in one of the ford pick-up kits I think its in the Moibus  kit ,
Dad alway raced wih a chevy 6cyl in his modifieds and raced on 1/4 and 3/8 miles dirt tracks , Okla state fair grounds tracks raced 6 cyl modifieds from 1957 til 1988 , thats the first year I started driving on the 1/4 mile track in my old 100" wheelbase with a 283 V8 with a 327 crank making it a 353 , that year myself and 2 of my brothers got to race every A main together . out of the 22 nights of racing between the 3 of us we took 12 of those A main wins wa finished 3th , 7th and 8th in the points
Thanks fellas  for the likes and comments

Great looking build, Jim.  Nice job on getting the exhaust rusty & burnt-looking.  8) 8)
