60's Hobby Sportsman
« on: February 26, 2018, 11:36:04 PM »
This was done for a group build last year.  I only spent a little over a week building it and every part is from my junk box.  Body is the 57 chevy from the MPC flip nose gasser kit.  Chassis is again Revell 55 chevy.  Roll Cage is evergreen tube.  The trunk lid was cut away and a copy made with heavy aluminum foil.  It was bent and dented and then painted.  It will never see a contest table but it was a lot of fun.  It represents cars I used to watch in the mid 1960's.

The Chassis is bare bones 60's Hobby Stocker.

Loaded up and ready to go.

Beautifully ugly.  Looks a whole lot like it has been raced hard.  I especially like all the dents and roughness of the body.  Nice weathering on the chassis.  Two thumbs up.
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

Oh, WOW!!
Great job on this one!!!!

Also great looking hauler and trailer.....

But........a Ford pulling a Chevy??   LOL
though quite typical of those days gone by....used whatever truck/pick-up that was around to get the car to the tracks......
Saw a number of trailers like this, with the rear of the car hanging way over the end of the trailer.....
