Title: Charlie Jarzombek build
Post by: Big Orange on September 11, 2017, 08:02:32 PM
My scratch built Charlie Jarzombek Vega modified, sorry for the so-so images, I didn't have a good digital camera at the time.

:)  Very nice.  Long noses on those cars, huh ?

Oddly, it wasn't so much that the nose was so long, it was more that CJ seemed to make the body very tiny on this particular year car. The pics of my model distorted the actual look of the build, not sure why. I'm trying to find the pic I had of the 1:1 car I used for reference. I'll post up when I find it.

:)  Not being critical.  Just noticed it.  Being from the south, I never  got to see any of those cars race.

No worries John, I didn't take offense to anything. The modifieds ARE unique creatures, especially the dirt cars of today. It's comical when I go to Charlotte, for the World Finals, and hear some of the comments from those who have never watched the modifieds run.

Hard to name many that were any better than Chargin' Charlie. He still had a lot of racing left to do before his life was cut short 30 years ago.

Charlie was an awesome wheelman. Not many were able to conquer the high banks at our local 1/3 mile, but he was one of them, and in their marathon race. It was always an exciting race when he showed up !!

A dead-on replica and a great-looking build typical of you, Big O.  Love that pavement pounder 'tude just oozing out all over!   8)

Thank you for the kind words about my build. I'm inspired by everyone on here and have learned quite a few helpful tricks along the way. Let's all keep up the good work.
