Title: J2
Post by: James2 on June 19, 2017, 07:01:21 AM
Here's one some are sure to remember. Built from a picture John2 found for me. The decals came from a FRW member years ago...

:) :)  I remember it well, and really like it.  I have seen several other 1:1 J2 cars since that time.

Good to see it is still on the track.

Either my memory is going bad, or I just plain missed this one.... :(
That is a GREAT looking build!!

Ed, I don't remember seeing this one either. Boy, I really like this car. The stance is right, the paint is right, and just the right amount of weathering. The driver looks pretty realistic too.

James,

Remember it well. Was it not your avatar at one time?

One of the "classics" and one that shows James' considerable talents. Just terrific!

Thanks guys! I wish I had a pic of the real car, but I can't find it. Maybe John2 can?

:-\  I don't know, Jim.  I know I have not saved it.  I probably Googled '57 Chevrolet race cars, images, and kept it for a while.

I'll try.   :)

Let me see what I can find out about this approaching tropical storm, and then I will look for it.

 :) :)  Well, I'll be dog.

This is the car, but not the picture I sent you.  That one was a right front coming out of Turn 4, and I think it was a dirt track.

:) :) :)  lol   Cool,  David.  Still at least one more picture though.  I just googled dirt track '57 Chevies, but did not find it.

My picture seems to show New Smyrna.  So maybe some of our Florida friends can find it.

Saw this car several times running with a Carolina Vintage group on dirt. I have some pictures of it somewhere. The original was driven by Jim Vandiver who raced for several years in NASCAR after he left the local dirt circuit around here. He drove the blue and yellow Dodge  Chargers #31 on the superspeedways.
