  I can appreciate your diligent research and attention to detail.
  What are you using for putty/filler?  I need to find something more suited to styrene plastic than Bondo and from what I can tell, whatever your using seems to be working quite well for you.

Great job on this Mercury Mark! The home-made decals look terrific along with the blue streak Goodyears.The 50s & 60s vintage Nascar Grand National cars were my favorites.

Brian, it is Tamiya white putty. The key is to use it very sparingly. If you use it to fill large spaces it will shrink after a while and you will notice it. Use as much styrene to fill the area before finishing it off with a little putty.
