In response to the above questions. Yes it is a modified Watson Indy car frame. The body is a combination, the tail is a Grant King part the rest is a cut down old Monogram 1/18 scale midget with a lot of modification to the nose. They look like Champ cars because of the long nose that covers the front of the frame but the wheelbase is 3.5" so 87 " in 1 to 1 scale. I've started messing around with the power plant to try and reproduce the Watson sprint car that had the Ford Indy car engine in it. I saw AJ Foyt drive that car at Ascot Park in the late 60's very impressive.

The engine is  the DOHC Indy Ford, it came from the MPC Gurney Eagle kit. It looks to be a good fit the injectors just clear the hood and I think the exhaust headers should be fairly straight forward.
