56 Ford Sportsman
« on: July 23, 2017, 08:47:06 PM »
Just finished this short track 56 Ford sportsman. The 427 fe motor might be a little heavy for a quarter mile dirt bullring, but I had the nearly done motor laying around, and it fit like a glove. Car is built up on the stock ford frame with my decals.

Somehow I missed this one.  Beautiful work.  Looks plumb wicked.

WOW!!  Slim.....
That really looks sharp!!!! Love the paint scheme! Really sets it off!

Don't know if it was true or not, but was told back in the late 60's at the near by 1/4 mile dirt track one team was running a 454CI Chevy under the hood.

The last couple of years that I've managed to catch the vintage cars running at the same track, but it is now a 1/3 mile dirt track, there was a team running a Chevy II bodied stocker with a big block under the hood. Oh.....and it has won the last 2 years.....

Better fix that transmission cross member Slim. That FE motor will yank right out of there......gotcha!

Great looking old Ford Slim. This brings back a lot of memories from that era. Great job on the paint and decals also.

Nice job!  No problem with the big block.....cars in our area ran 454's, 427s, and even 426 hemis on the 1/4 & 3/8 mile dirt tracks.

Another very nice build, Slim.
I always like seeing what "ideas" you come up with on your decals.  :D

That's a very fresh colour scheme there Slim.  And like someone once said, the only replacement for cubic inches is cubic feet!
