Side draft carb.
« on: May 23, 2018, 12:03:57 PM »
I’m looking for some SU side draft carburetors to put on a straight eight Buick engine. Anybody have an old Brit sports car kit or two, kicking around that has these carbs?

It was a shot in the dark. I know they are probably pretty rare. The old early modifiieds with inlines are often shown with SU’s if they don’t use Strombergs. I was just looking for something different. I did see a Buick I8 with a homegrown manifold with an old AFB 4 barrel on it. But like the Strombergs, they are directly in the drivers field of view. That probably why the sidedrafts were popular.

 8) 8) 8)

Got a BUNCH of side-draft Carter carbs (look a lot like the side-draft Rochchesters).  If you still need some, send me a PM with the
mailing info, and how many ya need.  Be glad to put 'em in an envelope and send ya some.
