Prior to the 2000s there were available 1/43 stock car kits, some made by a company called Starter, among others, probably. I was lost in watercolor painting in those days.
Anyway, I recently built a 1/48 kit of the Stearman biplane, and want to make a small lean to type hangar for it from craft or popsicle sticks. I think it would be neat to have a car to go with it, and would imagine 1/43 would be as close in scale as you can get. Probably can turn a racer into a street car easily.
So ....................... anybody got one I could get for a reasonable price ?
Please pm me.
There are a lot of 1/48 scale car kits out there. Here are some examples...

Thank you, Marty. I did not know that.
Thanks. The problem has been solved.
1001 Model Kits has a 1/48 '57 Chevy for $ 12, and $ 15 shipping. But I found a 1/52 diecast and plastic dump truck at Fred's Dollar Store for $4.77. I think it is an International.
Anyway I cut off the dump body, and made it a flat bed. A few details picked out with a tiny brush, and it will be fine for what I need.
