Title: #3 Goodwrench Lumina, 1991 edition
Post by: 18degrees on November 25, 2024, 12:53:42 AM
finished it up tonight.  there are more detailed progress pics in the fab shop area.  lots of parts from Jaye.

Tamiya black for the body and Krylon fire red for the chassis & interior.  Powerslide decals.  Revellogram kit, i opened the trunk.  some paint runs on the driver's side below the contingencies that i didn't notice until i started decaling, otherwise i woulda sanded them down. :o

Looks great, 18. I like everything about it. Especially the trunk detail.

That's a great looking replica. Like Mark said, I like everything about it. I don't think I would have noticed the paint run if you hadn't mentioned it. Well done

I don't know how I missed this one,but excellent work! I have quite a few parts from Jaye's Model Garage to use on some NASCAR projects. I really like how it turned out.

yesterday i got a new part from Jaye that i ordered specifically for this finished build.  he recently introduced trunk bracing and i figured why not since i opened the trunk on this one

Jaye has some neat stuff, waiting on a order now, probably ordered from him at least 10 times. Wish he would come up with some headers for the early GM cars.

Jim Rogers (of JR Salvinos) has some 3D printed ones that are VERY nice replacements for the 180 degree ones in the kits. They fit well and he also has single/individual exhaust pipes that fit and look good if you don't want to use the kit exhaust. Jaye also makes exhaust for that era.

I have Jim's headers for all my pending GM builds from that era.
