finished 'er up just a little bit ago. 2007 Army #01 Monte Carlo that Mark Martin drove part time. nipped at the line by Kevin Harvick at the Daytona 500. there were different looks to this car that week as evidenced by the pictures you can find on the interwebs. the car that ran the race didn't have the yellow air dam, but apparently it was run with it during the week. mods were boom tube exhaust thru the rocker panels (see WiP thread for details on this if you are curious) and a fuel filler from Jaye. box stock kit otherwise. Tamiya black and Powerslide decals. glad to get this one built, it has been in my stash for several years.
oh yeah, i challenge anyone to claim that any other hobby paint is as shiny as 3 coats of Tamiya black from a rattle can. it's a shame to decal it because that muddles the shine.

think i am going to do Ryan Blaney's throwback tribute to his dad's Jasper car next...
That turned out real nice. Something about a black race car, just looks menacing.
Nicely done!! I still wish this car would've made it to victory lane at Daytona!
Looks great to me! It's still looks pretty doggone shiny to me.

Oh, it still shines some but not like when it's freshly painted. I can usually see my reflection in most Tamiya gloss paint after 3 coats but i can't pick out things like facial details. The black is almost like looking in a mirror. A black one but still...
Really really came out nice.
Good build.
Those Army cars ran smart looking schemes.
Your failed red decals, same happened on my 21 Coastguard build. Solutions and a hairdryer wasn't fixing those, just fell to pieces.
Great-looking build and stance. Nice job!
