Here is a Snickers chassis ( thanks to Pat Daly for it and tires ) and a Raybestos body (thanks to anotherric ). Brush painted and hand lettered, except for the product decals and STG. I think this is a '91. No driver signed yet.
I removed the roof rails, and faked 180 degree headers with an exhaust port in the right side. I turned the headers upside down under the hood. And covered where they pass through the interior with a panel. I am taking lots of short cuts this late in life.
Just wanted to see if I could do the hand lettered logos, and did it about as good as I am able to. A fun build for sure. I am going to take it to Memphis.
Hope y'all like it. :)

Excellent work, John.
Very nice. Looks a lot like it could be a cool ARCA car.
Hope to see it here next month......
Nice job John, your hand lettering looks real nice!
Now that's some NAPA know how!! I like the exhaust through the door!

John,
Nice build Sir. I know that's brush paint, but what brand and color of blue did you use

:) Thanks, everyone, for the comments.
Mike, the paint is from the little Testor's bottles of acrylics. Their blue is quite dark, almost black, so I mixed in a little white.
I have used them almost exclusively for the past two years or so. They come in sets of about 9 colors. I wash out the empty bottles, save them, and then mix some colors a little more to my liking.
Needless to say, I have a zillion bottles of green on hand. lol
I actually do better with the brush paints than I did with the sprays.
Looks great John. Has the look of an early 90s CASCAR that ran mainly in Ontario. We had lots of big name sponsors in those days running fibreglass bodies that replicated the Cup cars of the era.
Excellent job John! I agree, the more you build the better you get!
Rick :)
:) Thanks. Glad y'all like it.
John,I don't see it on here, but saw it in your email and it is a sweet late model.I think those kits build nicely 8)
Nice work John!
Indeed, your builds and hand-lettering just keep getting better, John. Now you're mixing your own colors? So the Speed Shop is expanding and offering paint services as well. Cool! ;D
Hey there, John!!! You've pulled off another gorgeous looking hotrod!!! I love your hand lettering and brush painting. Almost like going back to our beginning days in the hobby. Great job!!!🤗👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🏁
Very cool looking build there, John2!!
Looks Great, love the hand letting...
:) Thanks to everyone. It was a fun project.
Nice work. I "dummy" just about all the 180 degree pipes on my builds, just don't have the patience to do it for real...LOL
:) Thanks, Gary. I feel better. lol
:) I have deleted the ugly black boxes where my pictures used to be. Sorry I had to do that, but I got tired of looking at them. The black boxes, that is.
