This 410 ran in Northern Calif. for two seasons....02-03. They blew the engine at the end of the 03 season and that was the end of Todd's Dirt runs for a few yrs. He then went into the Super late models and also ran the N. Calif circuit. But...this build is of the #2 410..
I started with the Gambler chassis from one of the Monogram kits. The chassis they ran was a J&J. So...I had to remove and add bars to get it to a J&J. I fabbed the the oil tank out of evergreen and made the front crossover pipe on the front of the engine from the same. They ran only one engine breather and that was in the front on the crossover pipe. All the body panels and hood where also fabbed. The cockpit has fabbed gauges along with a Kirkey seat from DIRT MODELER. Engine is plumbed and wired. Decals are made in house and the paint is duplicolor.

That is one sweet build!!!!! Great work!!!!!
unbelievable!!!!!!very cool build!
Hey Folks...thanks for the GREAT compliments....
Gary, I have hereby awarded you the modeling Clay Kemp (SY Young) award. Or maybe I should award Clay the Gary Davis award. This is true awesomeness!
All in good fun Gary! Just my way of telling you how blown away I am with your build. ;D
Thank you Tom for the GREAT compliment and comparison.

Thanks a whole bunch David and I took it as such. You had me laughing my rear end off with that engine comparison picture...wasn't expecting that...that was funny....
Wow! What attention to detail......must have a steady hand and great eyesight!
Thanks Bob...Hands are ok.. up to the second cup of coffee. As far as the eye sight goes.... I use binocular magnifiers to build with these days. It looks kinda like a watch repair guy at work... I had a few more 1/43 scale builds that I want to do but...it needs to be done soon (with in a year or two...I'm judging) or I can shelve that build idea...
I am sitting here rendered speechless and with socks blown off ...
...YET AGAIN! :o
Simply amazing craftsmanship as always, Gary! 8) 8)
LOL...Dang Bill...I'm going to have to send you some socks for Christmas..eh? Thank you very much for the kind words....

Yep, looks like my jacket :(
Great work as we all admire, Gary !!
Thank you Jim....
very nice,I'll be back to this several times after the holidays.I just ordered my first sprint kit, also monogram, and i'll be adding a few goodies from dirt modeler also.I may get hooked!!!! ;D
OK...I see in this post that you did order the 1/24 Monogram kit. They are pretty cool. All the engines are chevy. If you want to change the chassis from a Gambler to a J&J...you'll have to do a little slice'in and Dice'in. But...nothing tooo difficult. Dirt modeler does have some good stuff that's fairly easy to work with. That Kirkey seat is really nice and easy to assemble. I used CA on mine instead of soldering it.
Thanks Gary!
Just got my casey luna car today,I'll be watching this thread.Looks like all of the chrome will get stripped.don't plan on this one being ant thing other than box stock and will learn from there! Thanks Gary
You bet'cha Pat. I think you're going to like the build. It can be a little fiddley with the chassis but...in the long run..it's well worth the effort....
