This is Red Farmer´s 56 Ford. He drove it in the 60´s in the Sportsman series.
Imho, he drove some of the coolest looking racecars ever. And he still does!!
I built this car a few years ago and long after it was finished, i found the pic which shows the exhaust exit in the upper part
of the passenger frontfender. To late...
These are the Red Farmer cars on my to-do-list: ´63 Galaxie, ´68/69 Torino and a ´72 Torino.
The kit is AMT, decals are from the fantastic double set from Yesterdays and i did some minor engine bay details.
The giddy up..., Mechanics... and Bob Burnett´s wheels... decals are done on my inkjet.
Hope you like it, thaks for looking !!

Excellent replica build, nice work.
Bob
That is a very cool build!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice!

Nice clean build.
Great job on an iconic race car and driver. Some of my earliest memories are of Red coming to Nashville to race against Coo Coo Marlin, Friday Hassler, and Jimmy Griggs. Yes almost all of the exhaust were over the right side upper fender. This one's on my todo list
Michael - Very Sharp......& Clean!!!
Great job, especially drilling all the little holes!
Excellent build of one of the most beautiful Sportsman cars of the 60's. I had the opportunity to watch him race in a special 200 lap Sportsman's race at Hickory Speedway, NC in the late 60's in a '58 Ford. IIRC Bobby Isaac also raced that day, as did a couple from the Alabama crowd, (not the Allison's). They were racing against the great Jack Ingram, Ned Setzer, and 'Handsome' Harry Gant.
Thanks for your kind comments on the Ford, Guys !!

Hey Rick,
you must be a lucky man, to watch all those great legends racing back then!
I was born in ´63 just when they raced :) :)
Me and my lady traveled across the pont to the states in 2001 to visit some tracks. We were in Talladega, Atlanta and Darlington. I didn´t watch a Nascar race, because i´m a big fan of older races till the end of the 80´s. I visited the museums of Talladega and Darlington, it was a great experience to catch the spirit of the good ol´ days of Nascar and to put my feet on "holy" ground:

Michael,
Beautiful build of an icon. Had the pleasure to see Red and the rest of "Bama Gang" race At the Nashville Fairgrounds as a kid. Those were the days.

Mike
beautiful build!
Excellent build of a beautiful car. Spot on replica.
Glad you like it, my friends and thanks for your kind comments on this one!
Love it and great job on the decals!
Spotter23 and Superglue5..............I was 14-15 years old when Red used to come to the Fairgrounds with this little 289 Hi-Po powered '56 FORD. He would wear out CooCoo and Charlie Binkley in those 427 powered '62 Biscaynes. Ya'll both know Jimmy Griggs, P.B. Crowell, (especially if D.W. was driving it) and Freddy Fryer were all stiff competition but Red was a real "WHEEL MAN" in his white and gold FORD! Those were the days...................this is a beautiful model representing Red.
