Title: Grand Sport
Post by: James2 on August 28, 2019, 07:55:52 AM
Heys guys! I don't get to post much any more and haven't built any short track cars lately, but I still enjoy the hobby.
This is an Accurate Miniatures 63 Grand Sport Corvette chassis #005 Owned by Mecom and driven by Penske. This is how the car was delivered to Nassau for the Grand Prix. I used Tamiya paint on everything but the interior and body, those where a color perfect match by Model Car World Finishes. The rest is just odd and ends with a mild dose of detail.
Thanks for looking and as always, build on...

The only real series of Vette I like is the Stingrays.  This is one magnificent build of a racing legend.  You said it is a '63, but the split window is missing.  I seem to remember reading somewhere the reason for that, can you enlighten me?

I believe Roger had the center section removed for sight. There were indeed 63's when built.
Everything you see on the car came in the kit, including the photoetch piece you will see in the Chassis #003 I'm building.
Thx...
