Title: One Piece at a Time
Post by: James2 on March 30, 2018, 09:37:56 AM
This is a little Hot Rod inspired by Johnny Cash's "One piece at a Time" song.
32 Ford frame, 29 Phantom "A" truck cab, sectioned 58 Chevy tail and roof and a Dodge Red Ram engine. SO FAR (just for John)

Wow, I really like where this is going. It reminds me a lot of a local kid that found a ‘29 cowl, a ‘31 AA truck frame, and a ‘59 Pontiac on a Creek bank while working at a local vineyard. He asked about them, and the owner told him he could have them, if he took all of them, not just the parts he wanted. He narrowed the tail end of the Pontiac, and attached it to the cowl of the modelA. He cut the frame up, and built a Duval style windshield for it. The drive train came out of a Dodge Dakota with the small overhead cam V8, and automatic transmission. It is crazy cool. He used a ‘37Ford truck grill shell with square headlights molded to the sides, and a custom hand formed hood. He just polished all the aluminum parts on the engine, and had a set of custom headers built for it. It is true home grown hotroding.

This is going to be interesting to watch come together.
We had a couple of this type cars in central Pa. in the early to mid sixties.
I'll keep an eye on this one.

I think if you choose to use the streamline nose, you need to tack a little more onto the front of the top, and fabricate a Duvall windshield, to make the lines flow.

Option 1 is a little too traditional from the cowl forward to complete the theme started with the very cool ‘58 turtle deck, and what I guess will be a Carson type lift off top.
