Quote from: 18degrees on Today at 11:39:20 AMAre you going to paint the red on the roof sections? Seems like it would be easier than making a decal for it, getting the contours correct.

Yes, I will be brush painting those first. Something that small would be too much trouble to airbrush. Then I will airbrush the gold and then mask all that and airbrush the blue. Should be a lot easier than the painting I had to do on the Monte Carlo that I just did.

Got the right side wheels on, simply glued the wheel backs to the end of the suspension parts. Just have to match up the position for left sides, which may be a pain. Gotta eyeball it and pray for the best.

Nothing worse than 3 wheels that touch the ground and one that doesn't.

I'm through with the decals because I have checked out paper copies of all the decals on the model itself and they all fit. So, it is on to the build itself and painting the body colors that come close to the ones in this photo that a guy posted at MCW for me from a trading card he had saved for many years and kept in a safe place for all that time. The real car colors should be real close to those in that image. I have a Createx wicked pearlized blue that I can work with to lighten a little to match that color blue as close as I can get it.

Good build.
Those Army cars ran smart looking schemes.

Your failed red decals, same happened on my 21 Coastguard build. Solutions and a hairdryer wasn't fixing those, just fell to pieces.

everything is painted, just doing some detail work.  as long as the Stoney's decals co-operate with me, this should be done in a few days.  if not it's gonna be a coupla weeks as i am headed down south for a week next Tuesday.

been long enough since i built one of these that i put the fuel rail on backwards :o  the air cleaner still fits so no loss there

wheels and tires... painted the wheels with Tamiya florescent yellow just to see if there was a contrast... there really wasn't much difference.  hubs are from Brandon Miller that i had in my stash.

some random finished parts, the splitter is from Brandon also

and the seat is from Jim Rodgers (last one i had in my stash) and the shifter is, again, from Brandon
