I made a banzai run up to Fulton (about a three hour round trip for me) in the afternoon and got a chance to look at some great builds.  All of the vendors had packed up and left by the time I got there, but my wife would have probably banned me from the house if I came home with more kits or aftermarket parts!  I didn't have a ton of time to stay, but there was plenty there to inspire me to get back to the bench and finish a couple of short track cars that have languished since the spring time.

The Ryan Preece modified on the first page of that Fotki album was unbelievably detailed.  Totally scratch built chassis and a new resin body offering from Big Donkey.  I just saw on another site that car was picked as best of show.

I'm glad you got to get to the show!!!  The modified appears to be a museum quality piece.  A well deserved award, I'd say!
