I know this has been asked, and discussed before, but I am old and can't remember stuff so good anymore. 

Is 1/24 or 1/25 equal to 1/2 inch to 1 foot ?  I think so  --  not sure.

1/24 is 1/2' to the foot.

1/25 is a tad smaller...................go online and buy yourself a 1/25 scale ruler. Just GOOGLE 1/25 ruler and several sites will come up where you can buy one. Very helpful when scratch building .

I have an ambitious project in mind to design, and build(on) a 1/25 plastic  Piper Cub/like high wing cabin, tandem seat, homebuilt, tail dragger airplane. 

There are no kits available of anything close to this.  It doesn't have to be exact, as long as it is believable sitting next to a '65 Chevy pickup.

I will begin it January 1st, and go at it, as if it  will never be finished.  I have wanted to this for quite some time.

Kinda tired of doing cars.

  A digital caliper will be a great help...especially if you have the actual dimensions available to that Piper Cub.  In 1/25 scale 1mm. is equal to1"  I've used that measurement formula since getting back into the hobby 14 years ago.  A digital caliper can measure in both inches and millimeters and usually run around $20.00....its an invaluable tool when it comes to scratch building.
