Started on this one by cleaning up an old mercury body from a 1972 built kit that I had lost half of the pieces on so there was no way to resurrect it. I'm going to use the body as a test bed for my new airbrush to see how it works and see if I like the paint I have chosen to use on the Monte.

Which Monte Carlo kit are you going to use for the body and for the frame?

Jh. Below are some recent photos that will answer your question and show the test bed body primed and the decal sheet I will use and hope I don't mess up because there's only one chance per decal on this sheet to get it right. Not like the sheets I make with 5 spares per decal sheet.

Got the gold on but need to prime the real build white. The gray makes it look too dark. Need to add the red and test my color separation line ability. Thats my new airbrush that is making my airbrushing so much easier.

I painted the sides of the test body with Tamiya white primer and will shoot Createx Wicked red on one side and plain old Createx wicked gold on the other side. Luckily, I found a bottle of it in my stash that had not separated out from age. It appears to be more metallic than the pearl gold I used the first time. If it looks good, I will start preparing the Monte Carlo body for paint.
