One More Jalopy
« on: June 14, 2021, 01:01:27 PM »
One More Jalopy...at least for a while.  Started this one in March of this year, and just about finished now.  I usually start out thinking, "Well, this should be an easy, no-problem build", but then oops, this part doesn't fit, that part has to be modified, the next part has to be scratch-built.  The '37 Ford kits all come with a 'custom' chassis (no leaf springs), and I'm leaving it as is - these frames are pretty delicate to begin with.  The kit is 1/24th and no flathead motor, so the parts box 1/25th looks a bit small.  Tried unsuccessfully to find some old style 1/24th tires from the old Monogram Black Widow roadster which would have been  ideal, so then again the 1/25th tires are a wee bit small.  Radiator is from Big Donkey.  Anyway, getting close to finishing my "simple" build.

Looks like "one more nice build" to me! Coming along clean as a whistle!
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

Very nice piece of work, and looking forward to the finish. Nothing says FORD any more than that flattie motor. Cut my teeth working in the garage business on those old motors in the early and mid 60's. When I was 15 yrs old you could find some you could have for just hauling them off. Those days are long gone. Nice memories every time I see one in a model.
