This is going to be replica build of the #46 driven by Pee Wee Pobletts in 1962, at Williams Grove and Lincoln speedways in Pa.
The car had a Pontiac hood ornament and the Indian face light up when racing.

Hosted on Fotki

This car had a Pontiac body and was powered by either a 389 or 421 Pontiac engine.
The body was a five window with the roof shortened and the divider post cut out.

In an effort to duplicate this body as close as I could, I used two resin bodies from Big Donkey resin.
I used a 33 Chevy three window coupe for the lower body and rear window.
I cut the roof off of a 34 Ford five window coupe and shortened the roof.

33 Chevy on the left, 34 Ford on right with roof removed and marked for shortening.

Roof in place and sides of the body shortened. The photo of the car in red, is a full size replica .

Chevy rear window removed on the left photo and installed in the Ford roof on the right.

Roof glued on, and the 33 Chevy rear window, installed in the rear of the 34 Ford roof.

All of the cutting and sanding were done with these tools.

I will keep you posted as I get more completed on this build.

A ton of work has gone into this already and it's obvious that you have great "vision" Bob. To be able to "see" this puzzle piece fit into this puzzle piece is somewhat of a gift and you have it. Very well done so far and learning alot with your shown techniques.
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

:)  This is truly amazing, Bob.  I agree with David.  It, as said, will be a one of a kind when completed.  I admire your willingness to tackle such a project.

But, for me,  my days of such devotion  are past, as I wind down a long career of model building.

Looking forward to seeing your finished model.

That is some outstanding body work.  Amazingly the carpet monster did not swallow one of those body pieces.  Looking forward to the completion of this one.  BTW, what are you going to be using for a chassis?
When I win the Powerball I will switch to the real ones.

To answer your question Rick, I will be using a 32 Ford frame from a kit. The kit had coil springs in the rear so I had to install a cross leaf spring carrier in the frame. The frame also had to be narrowed.

Revell Monogram parts pack 421 Pontiac engine.
Rear fender cut outs filled in ready for putty.
Using a quick change rear end from Big Donkey resin.

Got one started, too!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

Here is an update on this build. I do have the bumpers and some other small parts made. It will soon be ready for some paint.
Decals and hood ornament on order.

That'll be very cool, Bob. Looks great so far.
I would like to see some pics of the chassis mods if possible, sir.
