A true junk yard build??
« on: June 19, 2017, 06:38:53 PM »
this is what happens when one gets bored with no new kits to build.....originally built in the late 1960's....painted in the 1970's.....decaled in the late 2000's

Okay, here's what we have....body: 1960's something Mercury Comet, frame from junked AMT '57 Chevy, seat from same '57 Chevy kit (custom seat), front wheels, tires & axle, from "scrapped" Lindberg White Lightning kit, as is the rear axle/tires/wheels, rear leaf springs from scrapped IMC Dodge P/U, engine, possibly from and old 19696(?) AMT Mustang, front radiator and support, as well as gas tank from original AMT '65 Ford Galaxie(?), exhaust pipes from and old Pontiac early to mid '60's era. Roll cage built from mostly parts trees with rear "braces" around gas tank from a roll bar from one of many early '60's AMT kits....decals? from whatever I could dig out....some from very old kits, maybe from the '70's if not earlier....

Cool as all get out! I remember seeing cars like that! That's how it was done "back in the day"!
Back in the day, is really back there if you are as old as I am! LOL
