I never got see them race , at least I don't remember so, but there was a sanctioning organization that ran these type of cars (Modifieds????/Super Modifieds?????/Sportsman?????) in Oklahoma ,Kansas and I think Texas (NCRA???) back in the day.  Your build looks like many that I have seen of the aforementioned in pictures or restored in person and in itself looks great!

Gary, Bob, Brian. thanks for the replies.
Brian, you are correct about the NCRA.
Those were cool cars. I'm sure they were fun to see.
Building one like that is on my "to do list."

Actually, on this build........ I mounted the axle where it was intended. The "cow catcher" had to extend beyond the front tires. Makes it look a bit lengthy.

NCRA stands for Northern California Racing Association. Most of the tracks from the Bay Area, North were NCRA. I think the tracks South of the Bay Area were still NASCAR rules. The majority of the NCRA tracks were small bull rings. I think Sacramento, and San Jose, were longer tracks that operated under NCRA rules.

....Actually I was referring to the oldest of the two NCRA's  the National Championship Racing Association

It gets somewhat confusing when discussing the supers and sprints sometimes depending on what part of the country your in....have had that happen to me before

OTD,
Like Brian explained above....... The cars we mentioned raced in the Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas area (never in California) from the late '60s thru the '70s.
That organization was the NCRA.
National Championship Racing Association.
There may be other groups with the same initials.

Correct.
Emmett's grandson is Blake Hahn.
He races the ASCS 360 sprint car series (that Emmett started) and is a really good racer.
