Don't know if I can answer that question.......
In a way I did just that, to a point, though not because of disaster of any sort, but the next "worse" thing.....numerous moves from 1981 to 2005......that's when my "purge began......
Did not have much in the way of kits when I started buying kits again the latter part of 2006.
1st one was the AMT '35 Chevy Tobias Modifed with Fred Sudlow's box art. Studied the box lid for the info on it.....was how I found Fred'S site. Eventually found Randy Ayer's site....have not idiea of what the second kit was.....ever since then, the collections as grown. have sold various kits, while collecting others.....
Today, have no idea what 2 kits I would really want.....not many "new" kits that have my intereest.
What I have tracked down in the last few years have been 2 of the oriignal AMT Grant King Sprint cars kits, two of the 1980's reissue of that kit with the supmodified body parts. and 1 original issue of the Monogram Edmunds Supermodified....as well as 2 pf the Edmunds Supers wtih the trailer......found that kit around 1999 at a LHS in SoCal, even thugh I was not building kits that was in my heyday of NASCAR 1/64th diecast cars.....Traded that trailer and along the way, i got 2 of the Edmunds supermods form a couple of people who wanted the trailer but not the car.
