TLouis,

Very nice job,  and a very neat one also! It is fascinating with open cars such as this that you can see how they were built. I am a life long Mainer and familiar with short track racing in Maine and the northeast, but not the upper midwest. Can you give me some idea as to what time period that cars like this one were raced in that part of the country. My heart lies with mods from the late 60's to early 70's but suspect this one is from a later date than that.

These cars looking as such raced from 1960 till 1973. The exhaust "zoomies" were replaced with one large collector around 1966. Other changes were torsion bar suspension but the cars appearence did not change till '73. Then roofs came off and wings were added. Always a great race show!

'72 was the last year also that they raced at Hales Corners. Late models took their place.

That looks just like the modified's that they raced in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Well done! Due to my dad's job, we lived up there for three years. I don't remember the name of the track, but it was part of the fairgrounds. They raced cars during the spring and summer, snowmobiles sometimes during the winter.
Again, well done!
