Late Model dirt build
« on: June 21, 2017, 01:49:11 PM »
Modelers,

Built this back in 96.  My first attempt at doing a dirt late model.  Did not have access to evergreen styrene sheets back then so I made the body out of aluminum a cookie sheet from the Dollar Tree.  The chassis is out of a ASA Camaro kit.  Hope you like it again

Very nice, considering what you had to work with. Nice looking car!

Very well done Mike! I even like your material choice better in some ways because it's thickness makes it look even more authentic.
I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

Mike, I think the lack of Evergreen worked in your favour here.  Ypu have captured that well raced look that it so hard to get right.  Not wadded up into a ball, just "seasoned"!  I can really appreciate the extra work you put into the support frames front and rear and the fact that you made them from smaller size square rod to get the right look.  Here's a model that looks as good without its skin as it does with!

Cheers
Alan
