finished this one up today.  nothing really special added, just a wired distributor and some wheels, tires and window net from PPP. paint is Tamiya rattle can gold and pure red. decals are Powerslide. kit is AMT Bobby Allison Coke MC.  used some grille decals from Slixx, there wasn't enough detail left on the grille after a few coats of paint to do my usual panel line accent.

few things i noticed about this as i was going...
1.  i REALLY needed to try and lower the front end.  sits like a street car on gas shocks up front.
2.  that roll cage is REALLY low...

aside from that i was pretty happy with the results.  masking the paint lines was easy, much easier than what the Montes and Olds from the late 1970s/1980 woulda been.  painted the red first and masked along the body lines for the gold (thanks to a tip from Mark about not masking metallics).

note about this build for those that didn't read or don't remember from the WiP intro i had, this build was started before 2021 and shelved for whatever reason.  maybe because i moved, or i got aggravated or bored with it or whatever.  it's done now and that's all that matters.

anywhoo, on with the show.

still working on the Harvick car, getting the rear wheels attached properly, and digging this partially finished build from 4+ years ago made me look around and realize that i have a Dale Jr. #88 National Guard build that is also mostly completed; so i pulled that one out too.  if i remember right, the problem was the massive side decals, they didn't fit quite right on a SS glue kit, it was sized to one of Mike's resin bodies or the snap kit or whatever, will sit down and try and figure that one out too.  That also was 2021 or earlier.

That's a great looking build. Red & gold  livery really pops out.
