Hey y'all, i am starting an Ernie Irvan Kodak (1991) Lumina and i have a question about the proper color.

I previously built a 1995 Sterling Marlin Kodak MC and used Tamiya Camel Yellow. Decided to try Tamiya Chrome Yellow over red primer with the Irvan build. Painted the hood and i am questioning my choice, thankfully it was just the hood.

I always have heard that it was yellow over red primer to get the tone of yellow they used. The chrome yellow has some red/orange in it versus the camel yellow which looks to have a lot more red/orange in it. And you can't judge off internet pics given that the color tone can change with different lighting or whatever.

I tend to cross reference colors with a MCW chart and the color for Kodak is "wheatland yellow" so it's obviously not camel yellow.

I'm stumped... i may just go with the chrome yellow since i already started with it.

Opinions/experiences?
