Has anyone on here built a model where they modified the rocker panels/side skirts to allow the exhaust to come through? I started a Mark Martin #1 Army car that has exhaust like this. I have some boom tubes to use and an idea of how to do the skirts. Was wondering if anyone has done this before that could offer their technique.

Thanks

this isn't the best representation because of the exhaust stains, but it's what i am going for.  exhaust sits in a cutout in the side skirt.

i saw another photo where the exhaust exits out of the right side of the car... that would be less work ;D

Are you replicating a particular race? If not, the exhaust dump location was not standardized.  The team would move it from side to side - depending on a number of factors. The point being: unless you're modeling a specific race - you can put it where you want it.
