not too much to show as of yet.  tried some different colors for the headers and valve covers.

and that hood is damn shiny for now... until i smear water on it when i apply decals :o

going to do this differently due to the exhaust issue i posted about in another section, going to attach the rear suspension and engine before anything else is done so i can size the exhaust to the body.  shouldn't be too tough, i don't think, just some sizing and cutting of strip.  fingers crossed.

got a little more done, everything but the body is painted (due to the skirt mods not being done on one side yet) and a few things need to be detail painted, like the roll bar padding.

as implied above, i did get the left side skirt mod done.  it's a bunch of strip, cut and some sanded.  the side that faces out is 3 pieces, and there is multiple pieces on the backside to brace it all, along with tabs to mount it.  i tried to sand it some to blend the pieces together, but that was a pain due to the size and the fact that it's a little bit fragile.

i also have to figure out how to secure the boom tubes in place, they don't clear part of the rear suspension.

got the right side cutout done, not quite as pretty as the left side but whatever... tested out the exhaust fit.

interior was just painted, should have the body primed and painted in the next few days

Looking good, I'm guessing that is the Daytona car. That was Gann Racing, didn't they get absorbed up in that Earnhardt Ganassi deal? Really thought Mark ended up with a good team after that 500 finish.

Having some issues with the red decals, i think this sheet was printed before Mike used Cartograf... he had (and may still have) a warning for certain early sheets that had a lot of red (ie. Jeff Gordon #67 Outback) that it could be brittle and crack. The tail lights and Raybestos contingencies are red, the Raybestos cracked going over a curve on the nose and the taillights simply cracked a few times each. I replaced the Raybestos with a new one and pieced the taillights together and hit them with MicroSol. Hopefully they stay together when the 01 and WM decals go over *fingers crossed*

wish i had some sort of extra decal sheet from this era that was newer so i coulda replaced the taillights

looks good from the side ;)

left headlight is off, these were kinda a pain, had to saturate them in decal setting solution to get them to lay down

and you can see how bad the rear taillights cracked and went down...

Decals are done. Chassis is done. All that is left is to glue the body to the chassis, glue the glass in place and situate the exhaust.

Should be in the showroom in the next day or two.
