Very nice. I've got a Mercury that I received as a gift from Mark Box. I'd like to build one like this (hopefully as nice). Where did the decals come from?

This is one clean-lookin' machine.....very nice!  I didn't remember Rex White in anything but a Chevy.

Nice looking Merc Mark! Very good paint work. I'm with Bob...didn't know he drove anything but Chevy, however I suspect it might have something to do with Chevy's Mark III 427 supply drying up in mid '63?

Tom, from what I could gather from reading Rex's "Gold Thunder" book. The car and some parts were given to Rex and Louis Clements by Mercury through Bill Stroppe. I went on to read that Rex never liked this car because he thought it was too heavy, had too much rear overhang, and did not like the leaf spring rear suspension. He only drove this car in this color scheme for one race. The 63 Firecracker 400. After that he painted it the usual gold and white.

Here are what's left of the decal sheets. I borrowed some of the decals from a sheet I made for a 1963 Fireball Roberts Ford.

:)  I did not remember this one, either.  But, it is a great model.

Very nice replica build Mark. Paint and decals look great.

Here is what the real car looked like at Daytona for the firecracker 400 in 1963.

Man Mark...you did a GREAT job on this one.(as usual) A lot of work went into this build and it sure shows. Plus...it's a one of a kind paint scheme for that one Race. Good stuff....

Thanks, Gary. I really appreciate it.
