David,
I had a '73(?) Duster kit back in the day, Can't remember if it was from AMT or MPC..... Was sure it was a '73, as it had the 5 MPH bumpers on it as well...kit had 2 engines....not sure what the "small" block was, but it also had a 426 Hemi....and yes, I stuffed that Hemi under the hood, but could not get it to set properly. As like a number of builds from the '70's, they slowly disappeared over time, including this one.....
At the time the rental car company I worked for featured Chrysler products and they had a number of Dusters back then. Don't remember they having Darts. but those all and the slant 6's under the hood.
Our office got some cars shipped back from Hawaii around this time of early Darts and Valients(?), some of which had V-8's under the hood.....was fun to drive some of those with the V-8's under the hood!!

Once catalytic converters arrived in '70(?), those slant sixes were way down on power, almost to the point they couldn't get out of their own way! Definitely did not want to pull out into traffic unless there was no one coming for blocks! LOL
