Been working quietly on this Don Bohlander car and it's getting closer. Still a lot of detail work but I've sent measurements and paint chip off to Greg for the decal work. "Bo" is my favorite all-time driver simply because I watched him my entire life until I moved away from Illinois in 1980. He won more than 350 feature races at 25 tracks during a 45-year career that began in 1954 behind the wheel of a '42 Ford Coupe. Don Bohlander and Herb Shannon dominated Peoria dirt-track racing through the 1960s and '70s. Bohlander went on to win 10 season points championships, and from 1965-78, he was state champion seven times. He also won championships at dirt tracks in Sterling, Freeport and Davenport, Iowa. In a 2010 Peoria Journal Star story about the history of Peoria Speedway, veteran track announcer Scott Shults named Bohlander the speedway's greatest all-time driver.

I appreciate people that actually build and post models.

That's one sharp-lookin' replica.....it brings back fond memories of racing's "glory days"!

Now that is when racin' was racin'!!  You covered this one pretty well.  Those old cars seemed to last season after season, tough old dogs!  Nice job David, great work on the fenderless firewall details, that's what really makes it.

Man that looks GREAT David! As everyone else has said...."you sure nailed it"...
