I like it. You're right, every neighborhood had one. I like the "I'll get it done one day look, primer with mounting holes for the chrome, painted engine bay, built motor. Good looking '55.

it was common knowledge decals alone added 3 - 5 horsepower.

Yup. I had one just like that, but it was gold and white with no decals. It was the very first car I owned, and it cost me 150 dollars back in 1969. It was chalky green when I bought it and it burned oil the whole time I owned it.
