Does anyone have a photo of the under hood and interior of the real Bobby Allison Coke Monte Carlo from 1972.Not from a reproduction car or museum car or somebody's model of one. Those are never correct. I would really appreciate it if you could post them. My efforts to do so have failed so far.
Is that a Junior Johnson built car or one Bobby did himself?
In one of the old Stock Car Racing magazines there was an article showing how he constructed one of his cars using a factory frame. Someone on the old Ayers forum had it on there, maybe they will see this and repost it.
Thanks JH, but I think Junior built the car. It might even be the one he built for Glotzbach in 1971 repainted and updated a little. I'm open to any help though. Real photos of this car are really hard to find.
Might be a reason pictures are hard to find, Junior didn't want people to see his "innovations"

So true.
Ha, "innovations". That a great way to put it.
There was an article published in Stock Car racing magazine back in 1972 that showed Allison building the Monte Carlo. Somebody on the old NASCAR forum saved a copy. Maybe it was brought over here in the archives?
That would be great if someone could post it, if it is over here.
It appears to be the July 1972 issue, i did a lil research online for ya. But that's the best i could do, no one scanned the contents that i could find.
Thanks, Dave. I guess I'm just going to have to guess on the interior and under the hood. Probably just keep it oob but I'm pretty sure it had a double snorkel air cleaner so I will make one of those. The oob air cleaner would have gotten in the way of the distibutor on a chevy. It was probably a lot like the air cleaner the number 3 Chevy had in 1963.

Chances are almost 100% that the pictures were black and white being from the early 70's being that it was an article and not the featured story that might have contained a couple of color pictures....at least that was the format that I am seeing from my 70's era SCR magazines.
