Thanks, Steve. Having to make the decals first. Almost through with the 427 C.I. decal then all that are left are the right door 11, the roof 11, and the trunk 11. After I make those I can make the color sheet and the white inlay sheet and then I can start building the model.

I'm through with the decals because I have checked out paper copies of all the decals on the model itself and they all fit. So, it is on to the build itself and painting the body colors that come close to the ones in this photo that a guy posted at MCW for me from a trading card he had saved for many years and kept in a safe place for all that time. The real car colors should be real close to those in that image. I have a Createx wicked pearlized blue that I can work with to lighten a little to match that color blue as close as I can get it.

Are you going to paint the red on the roof sections? Seems like it would be easier than making a decal for it, getting the contours correct.

Yes, I will be brush painting those first. Something that small would be too much trouble to airbrush. Then I will airbrush the gold and then mask all that and airbrush the blue. Should be a lot easier than the painting I had to do on the Monte Carlo that I just did.

Got the body ready for primer. Added a fuel filler, rear spoiler, removed the holes in the hood, and removed the wiper blades. Also added some lips around the wheel openings.

The guy who found this car added it to make it street legal. there's a video somewhere showing the guy driving it and he also added a passenger seat.

Still need to do the windshield and back glass moldings and clear the body. After that I will decide if I need to do any polishing of the clear because sometimes it will go on pretty smooth and not need polishing. Then I can finish the tub and assemble the model and finally decal it and I will hopefully be done and can move on to my next project that I have been spending too much time on instead of working on this build to get it finished.

Thanks, Dave. The decals for the tires were old and brittle and came apart when I was trying to put them on the tires. I did the best I could and will try to fix them with some gold paint and a sharpened toothpick. Won't be perfect but I think I can get by with what I come up with. The gold doesn't show up that well anyway compared to white decals.

they were about me not being at home and reading your post, thinking i had some leftover PPP tires with the gold line Firestone decals. the second message was letting you know that i didn't have them, they are all blue line Goodyear or just plain Goodyear. :o

Made a way to mount the tires on the build the easy way. It would have been very time consuming to have scratch built a suspension like the real car had to do it. That's another reason why I glued the hood shut.

Polished the upper parts of the body and painted a lot of stuff flat black. Where I fixed the scoop in the hood is showing but the 427 decal will help hide that mess up.

Thanks, Dave. I keep trying to mess up the paint doing the final finishing touches and so far, no major foul ups that can't be fixed with polishing pads. It's way too late to have to get the airbrush back out. That's why I wait till I'm completely finished with the build before I start decaling.
