hey y'all, hope everyone's holiday season is coming right along and not stressful
i took a break from my Logan Schuchart build to get this one done. it's an ASA Tbird that was close enough to a 1992 Southwest Tour car (at least for me) to do this build with. decals were sourced from a seller on ebay that i can't remember but they went down just fine. headlight, tire and wheel decals are Powerslide. the lower grille is supposed to be just black, but i didn't like the way it looked so i added an older Slixx grille that i cut in half. interior, chassis, cage is Krylon fire red. body is Tamiya pure white and park green.
so the story with this car... Davey Allison entered the Southwest Tour race at Sonoma/Sears Point on June 6, 1992. ran for an owner named Danny Crafton with very minimal sponsorship. he qualified 11th and finished 40th out of 42 cars, with a blown engine sidelining him after just 4 laps.
so why build such an obscure car? because i wanted to, it looked cool 8) plus i had never built an ASA kit before, it went together pretty easily. had to follow the instructions given this was my first time building one.
and i do love the wide five wheels.
anyways, on to the show

I like it Dave! Especially like the fire red color and how you painted the inside portion of the body. Some folks neglect to do that. Well done
Nice build. Even has a little Christmasy look to it.

Thanks Steve.
I used to just let the overspray do what it would do with the inside of the body, bur ended up realizing that looked crappy at times.
It's the little details that can make a build and always appreciate when folks notice.
Very nice work! I never knew Davey ran a Southwest Tour race.
Very cool !!
I love the ASA cars as well.
I plan to buid one from the AMT Hardees 1/16 Tunderbird...
Would love to see this build, but since 2 months now, below is what I see when you post pics.

It's odd, nothing changed on my smartphone. Am in a different part of UK at Xmas, perhaps a different location may work.

Not sure why that would happen unless the UK is censoring something. The pics are linked from imgur which i think is pretty tame on content, at least from what i have seen.
