Stopped in to say hello and happy holidays, hope all is well with you and yours. We are doing well and still building model cars for the pure enjoyment of the hobby. I built a Jimmy Spencer Food City #10 Lumina this year and have a Mark Martin build to do but haven't worked on any short track cars lately. I did start a Cabover Freightliner last winter, a number of customs and hotrods.
I really have spent more time rebuilding an old Shovelhead and riding my Roadking. Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all....
:) :) :) James 2 -- John 2 here. So good to hear from you.
I have recently started what I call my " Farewell to Modeling Project. " I built my stash down to zero. But now will be building with no intention of finishing, a small shop diorama to house a tour asphalt late model team consisting of a GMP Buick ( '87 I think ), an MPC Monte Carlo Super Stocker, ( '71 I think ), an AMT Easy Build Chevy Dually, and a Wes's Model Car Corner open tandem double tire rack trailer.
I have a 16 x 24 piece of model plywood floor, shored up by wood strips under the bottom, and a slightly larger than 2 bay shop, with carport cover to the side which will be built for the truck and trailer. I have plenty of stuff to go in the shop.
And the car numbers will be 34, from a decal sheet for Wendell Scott, which has enough to do more than 2 cars.
I have completed the dually.
I will piddle along with it, with no self pressure, and no deadlines. Just work on it as I feel like it.
For those of you who don't know, James 2 and I have been around a long time. But real life does get in the way of model cars.
Again, so nice to hear from you. John Gorday
Happy New Year John2!
Living does come first, Karen and I just celebrated our 35 wed anniversary. We have been through Hell and High Cotton together and now we are enjoying a quiet life. I have been traveling for work again and will be leaving Chicago in a week or so and heading to Va for a large project. Karen will be joining me this time! Model building will be placed on the back burner for a while but I'm good with it.
I hope you are able to complete your project John, I have always enjoyed our conversations.
:) Me too. Best wishes.
James2, we've never really communicated but I remember seeing your work on Fred's old site. Always enjoyed your builds. Good to see you posting here. Hopefully we can see cabover Freightliner!
Steve
