Title: Petty blue
Post by: 18degrees on February 22, 2026, 01:13:53 AM
Has anyone here used Tamiya light blue (TS-23 if i recall) for Petty blue? I have the Salvinos Roadrunner kit and the molded plastic is darker than the Tamiya paint by what looks to me as quite a bit.

Has anyone used this shade of Tamiya blue for a Petty build, and if so were you happy with the results?

I have used it several times. Spray it over a grey primer to darken and tone it down a bit.

I've done exactly the same thing - at least a couple dozen times!

I have the first Roadrunner kit they released (Southern) and some decals for the first STP sponsorship at Riverside.
